Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar

Cold brew & Old fashioned Banana cake

Had an afternoon high tea with Char at Chye Seng Huat hardware coffee bar.

The shop isn't very prominent with their old style shutter gates and tradition Chinese wooden signboard. Don't be fooled by it though, cause the entrance is actually at their back alley. Inside is a cozy area with baristas working their way with latte art in the centre. Cozy enough, but not for big groups.

What intrigued me was this cold brew in a sort of cough syrup glass bottle. Was it suppose to mean coffee is the remedy? So the cold brew only had their standard coffee beans. There was this unique sour taste to it which neither the milk nor syrup could cover. It's definitely not spoilt for that matter.

I'm not much of a coffee person so that sour taste is a first time for me. But I'll give thumbs up to it cause in my opinion it tasted good.

The banana cake was 'meh~~~'. Wasn't too sweet, little banana bits goes well with the cold brew for a hearty light high tea for $10.
